 We realize there are times when it is helpful to talk to a professional and sort out concerns regarding an older family member. Perhaps the older person you are concerned about lives out of area, or maybe your loved one is hesitant about considering any change in their present circumstances. You may feel at a loss as to how you can help.Senior Support Solutions is available to offer consultation to discuss options and strategies that may be available to you and your family. We can help you evaluate your situation and give you guidance and direction.
Counseling
Whenever significant changes occur in the life of an older person, these changes are likely to impact family members as well. Senior Support Solutions is sensitive to the needs of all family members. For that reason we are able to assist with short-term counseling for our clients or any family members who would like to make use of our services. We believe that addressing the emotional needs of the caregivers is a crucial component in the care of our older clients. We are available for individual, couple or group sessions. We realize some of you do not live in the area so we are also available for telephone appointments.
Education
Sometimes even your best efforts do not feel sufficient when it comes to providing all that a loved one might need. There are times when we must learn new and adaptive ways to relate to our older family member as their needs and capacities change. The staff of Senior Support Solutions is available to educate family members in learning alternative ways to approach challenging family dynamics, gain new insights and create new strategies that will promote positive and effective change.
Specialty Alzheimer's Care
The staff of Senior Support Solutions is trained in the special services required for the care of people with memory impairment. Our services are tailored to meet these special needs. We perform an in-home evaluation to ensure that our clients can live safely in their present environment or make suggestions regarding possible alternatives. Home care services are arranged with people trained to work with this population. We evaluate and when necessary make recommendations for changes in the home environment that can help cue a person with mild to moderate confusion. Recommendations are also made regarding specific products that can enhance safety and/or independence. Most importantly we organize and oversee the ongoing care, thereby becoming a consistent and familiar contact for our client and a reassuring set of eyes and ears for family members.
